The beginning
It all started around age 8 with The Lord of the Rings miniatures, the start of an endless dive into miniature painting and the Warhammer worlds.
About
From brain biology to miniature painting: the journey that led to Fifty Minis Studio, based in the South of France.
It all began 20 years ago now, when my father, seeing me drooling over a box of miniatures (Gondor horsemen at the time), decided to introduce me to the world of miniatures! So I began my journey into the hobby with The Lord of the Rings, and it didn’t take me long at all to lose myself completely in this rich hobby through other universes!
That said, this passion and desire to learn about painting only came later, particularly with the rise of YouTube and the appearance of Duncan Rhodes’ tutorials on Warhammer TV. I continued this quest for knowledge alongside my neuroscience studies, which I pursued right through to a PhD – for Tzeentch’s thirst for knowledge knows no bounds! Upon completing my PhD, enriched by a newfound rigour and organisational skills, I decided to return to the hobby that had always thrilled me so much, and where I can give free rein to my creativity. Now, I devote myself body and soul to fulfilling the will of the gods of painting and tackle the grey tide day after day.
Because understanding the world isn’t the only way to explore it. Sometimes, all you need to do is bring some life to it! For a long time, I saw research as the ultimate way to satisfy my curiosity, but by specialising, I ended up narrowing its horizons. Now, I let it wander into the heart of imaginary worlds, stories and creatures that we bring to life together!"Not all those who wander are lost" J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Driven by passion
A passion that started at age 8, and never faded since.
It all started around age 8 with The Lord of the Rings miniatures, the start of an endless dive into miniature painting and the Warhammer worlds.
The real turning point came with Age of Sigmar and discovering Duncan Rhodes' tutorials on Warhammer TV. Since then, I keep learning by staying in touch with other artists, always chasing new styles.
Freelance commissions on Fiverr for several years, with real success. I decided to devote myself full-time to my first passion: painting miniatures!
